Experience the magical moments of Hanoi waking up! Let us take you on a unique, early morning adventure riding pillion on one of our vintage Vespas.
We begin by witnessing the sunrise from Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and enjoy the daily procession of the rising of the flag. Then we scoot to the impressive Long Bien Bridge and admire city views and morning commute. We then wind our way to the heart of Hanoi – Hoan Kiem Lake. There we really wake up with the locals with a spot of exercising, ballroom dancing or aerobics.
By now we should have worked up an appetite and what better way to get ready for the rest of the day than trying some freshly made, Northern Vietnamese specialty ‘Banh Cuon’, a mouth-watering healthy steamed rice rolls.
Last but not least, we wrap up our morning at a local cafe for an unmissable egg coffee.
*Hanoi Early Birds Highlights* including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Long Bien Bridge, Hoan Kiem lake and surroundings, a local market, a local breakfast eatery and café!

The Insider’s Hanoi begins as all good tours should, by sampling the authentic local café culture in the heart of the Old Quarter, then darting through the busy streets to explore the famous French colonial style St. Joseph’s Cathedral.
We then set off for an intimate ride through the city’s iconic narrow streets to the picturesque ‘Art Street’, where we learn about local artist’s murals showcasing a mix of traditional Vietnamese culture and modern ‘social’ influences.
We then ride out of the city to the Long Bien Bridge, a magnificent structure built over a hundred years ago which spans the Red River and connects the Hoan Kiem and Long Bien Districts. This magnificent structure also provides shelter to locals living on floating homes. Only motorbikes and bicycles can traverse here and this is truly an experience off the beaten track, so off we go! (weather permitting)
It’s back on the Vespas for a fun ride past the West Lake to Ngoc Ha Market and a stroll around this vast, bustling marketplace taking in the vibrant atmosphere that typifies Ha Noi.
After a short ride on your comfortable vintage Vespa’s toward Huu Tiep Lake, we explore the grounds of a 400-year-old temple, followed by a short walk through traditional local market streets to see the B52 crash site at the lake. This US bomber was shot down during the 1972 bombing raids of Ha Noi, a poignant reminder of Vietnam’s recent history.
Our final ride takes us along the riverside as we zoom past the ancient dyke wall, beautifully decorated with mosaic artwork to our final destination. A tranquil green oasis at a miniature Kumquat farm (seasonal) or we learn about the ancient tradition of making tea at the home of a Vietnamese Tea Master.
From the final stop, we will drop guests back at their hotel and bid them a safe farewell.
The Insider Hanoi – local coffee shop, St. Josephs Cathedral, Artistic murals, Long Bien Bridge, local market, local pagoda, B-52 lake, local tea house or kumquat farm!

Hanoi After dark begins at our stylish local Café with a beer cocktail and a delicious snack from one of the nearby night time vendors, before jumping on the back of the vintage Vespas. After weaving through the magical, busy back streets of the Old Quarter, we soon arrive at a lively local restaurant serving Bun Cha. This is the quintessential must taste Hanoian dish of rice noodles, grilled pork, and meatballs, with a side of ‘nem’ spring rolls. Simple but delicious.
It’s back riding through the narrow streets again, as we head toward our next foodie stop, a fascinating local joint, where we try infused rice wine and a buffalo jerky appetizer. We then head out of the Old Quarter, taking in the sites of the Hanoi Flag Tower and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, riding towards the West Lake and Truc Bac area. There we try the local specialty of ‘pho cuon’ and learn the art of wrap ‘n’ roll, Vietnamese style, with these fresh and fragrant ingredients, and the pho noodle!
Our next short ride on the Vespas takes us to our final port of call, next to the superb Opera House. The halcyon days of the 1930’s may be over, however, this Jazz Club will wow you with a truly unique blend of styles – 30’s style Jazz & traditional Vietnamese music!
*Hanoi After Dark Highlights* – hidden café, Bun Cha, rice wine and snacks, pho cuon, live music!
